Eoghan Rua Cill Chua CLG Notes
A big crowd gathered in the grounds of Pairc Eoghain Rua last Wednesday for the visit of GAA President Larry McCarthy.
Larry was welcomed by Club chairperson Roger Mogan, before going on to present our 7 AIB Club All stars with their awards for their exploits in our All Ireland run.
The cork man had great words of praise on our facilities and our recent success and finished off formal proceedings by presenting last years minor team with their championship medals.
Larry then sat down to dinner with the club committee and his company was a pleasure. We thank him for giving up his time and hope he enjoyed a magnificent evening in Cill Chua. See attached photo of our 7 all stars.
Our senior side have drawn Ballyholland in round 2 of the Morgan Fuels Down SFC. The game will be played next Monday night in Pairc Esler at 7.30pm with tickets again to be purchased via the MyTicket app. The game will also be streamed live on Down GAA TV. Good luck to the players and management.
Hard luck to our senior camogs who lost on An Riocht on Sunday evening in round 2 of the championship 0-14 to 0-6.
There was also disappointment for our under 14s last week who lost to Dromara at home.
Our G4M&O ladies team headed to the national blitz in Naomh Mearnog Portmarnock Dublin being 1 of 132 teams selected out of nearly 300 applications!!
They didn’t let the wet weather hold them back or dampen their spirit with plenty of fun and excellent football skills on display from all the girls flying the flag for our club on the national stage 🏁🏁
Thanks to Vinny Whelan and his team from LGFA for organising such a massive blitz with loads of fun and also to the host venue for fabulous facilities and hospitality.
We would like to wish team member Niamh Morgan a very speedy recovery after she sustained a serious injury during one of the games
