Cill Chus club notes

Eoghan Rua Cill Chua Notes W/E 10th Sept

It’s the Morgan Fuels Senior Championship quarter final this weekend. Good luck to our players and management in their fixture.

Well done to our premier reserves who dug deep and won by two points on Saturday past against Mayobridge in the preliminary round of the championship. An early Cormac O’Rielly goal was key, but in the end it was the never day die attitude of the lads who from 4 down with five minutes left won by two, Marty Devlin despatching a late penalty and a free and Brandon Morgan with two monster scores guiding them to a 2-15 to 2-13 win.

Congratulations to our senior Camogs who defeated Aghaderg on Sunday to qualify for the intermediate championship final.

The senior ladies had a big win over Ballymartin in the group stages of the championship last week. This week they meet RGU Downpatrick.

Well done to Leah, Eimear and Tierna who represented the Down u13 development squad today at the GAA Centre of Excellence, Garvaghy, Co. Tyrone. See attached photo.

Super performance and result on Saturday  for our young under 13s. Well done boys and mentors.

Saturday 9th September saw the return of the Friends of Kilcoo Mourne challenge and dander. The warm weather certainly made for challenging conditions for all participants who took to the mountains. Thank you to everyone who took part part and supported such a great day!

A massive thanks to Fresh food centre for providing much needed water and fruit, Quinns bar Newcastle for the tasty food and to our main event sponsor AJC group who donated a 50 inch smart TV that was won by Roisin O’Hanlon 👏👏. The £1000 cash draw will take place on Saturday 30th September, still  time to get your tickets from any committee member.
