Cill Chua Club notes

Eoghan Rua Cill Chua Notes W/E 27th August

Senior Championship action returned on Monday night when the lads met Carryduff in round 1 in Newry. Result unknown at time of writing. Round 2 will take place this weekend.

Best of luck to our under 17 players, management and backroom team who face Mayobridge in the championship final this weekend.

The reached the final via a semi final victory over Bredagh in Downpatrick last week were goals from Cody McCusker and Barra McEvoy proved decisive. Behind by 3 at half time, the lads showed serious grit and determination to win by two in the end.

A massive crowd turned out on Sunday morningfor the coffee morning which was held in the club rooms in support of the Kilcoo Minor team who have reached the All County Final.

Kilcoo GAC would like to thank everyone who donated all food  stuff and everyone who donated money towards the club.

Also a big thank you to all who helped out with making tea and coffee and making sure every body was attended to.

Well done to our under 13s on their fantastic 2 point win away to Liatroim last week.

Commiserations to our under 15s who exited the championship last Thursday away in Kilclief.

The reserves met Bredagh away in the championship quarter final on Sunday and went down by five points.

Hard luck to our senior ladies who lost to Bredagh in the division 1 league final on Saturday in St John’s. Major strides have been made in recent years and it’s a credit to be competing at the top table now. Best of luck for the upcoming championship.

Well done to the senior Camogs who made it 3/3 in the group stages of the intermediate championship last Wednesday with a big win away to East Belfast.

Kilcoo, Camogie Summer Camp.

A great three day camogie summer camp was held in Kilcoo playing fields last week. This camp was organised by Ryan Morgan, Kilcoo senior camogie team manager and club volunteers who gave up their time to help out with all the young girls doing all different skills and activities.

A big thanks to the county coaches who attended the camp over the three days, Paul O`Shea, County U16 Coach, and County player Beth Fitzpatrick from Clonduff.

Andy McGivern and Sean Coulter, County U16 and U14 coaches.

Ulster Coach and County player Oisin McManus.

The Ulster Cup was also in attendance and of course everyone had to get their photo taken with it.

See attached photo.
