CILL CHUA CLUB NOTES 9/7/23

Eoghan Rua Cill Chua Notes W/E 9th July

The big show in town this week is the Tailteann Cup final on Saturday when Down take on Meath. It’s a proud day for the club seeing so many of our stars involved with the county team in a National final in Croke Park. We wish Conor Laverty, Darragh O’Hanlon, Niall Kane, Ryan McEvoy, Miceal Rooney, Jerome Johnston, Ceilum Doherty, Eugene Branagan, Ryan Johnston, Shealan Johnston and Anthony Morgan all the best along side their team mates and fellow management in their aim of returning the county back to Sam Maguire football.

Well done to the seniors who had a good win on Friday past over Bryansford. The lads led from the front from the off and never looked in any real danger, with that man Jerome Johnston hitting the net twice in the 6 point win. There will be now be a fortnights break.

Commiserations to our under 17 boys who lost to Mayobridge in the league final last Monday in Ballymartin. Congratulations Mayobridge.

Hard luck to the senior ladies who lost to perennial county champions Bredagh last week. Well done to the minors who has a big win over Warrenpoint. The under 16s faced Loughinisland and it was the blues who came out on top.

Cill Chua hosted an u16 small sided League blitz last week with teams from Ballyholland, St Kevin’s, Attical and Bridin( Newry Shamrocks /Warrenpoint) attending.

Well done to our own girls who came out on top winning all of their games on the night.

Many thanks to all the clubs for attending.
