Cill Chua Club Notes

Eoghan Rua Cill Chua Notes W/E 21st May

MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK.

Cill Chua were delighted to host a Mental Wealth Games workshop at the weekend. A Huge thanks to Joe from TAMHI in delivering this fantastic programme, raising awareness of Mental Health in our communities.

Thanks also to our Health & Well Being Officers and Coaches who attended and to those from a number of other clubs in Down who participated. (Photo attached).

Well done to the county seniors and management on their win over Tipperary on Sunday.

At adult men’s level the seniors had a good away victory against Carryduff last Wednesday, Ceilum Doherty and Darryl Branagan with the goals. The seconds defeated Castlewellan by two on Saturday while on Sunday the thirds travelled to Burren and came away with a share of the spoils.

At underage the minors drew with the Dromara/Drumaness amalgamation last week while the under 13s won in Teconnaght and Bryansford in 2 games last week. The under 15 lads lost to Kilclief.

It was a disappointing week for our ladies in girls sides. Our seniors and under 14 both lost their respective league fixtures.

The senior Camogs travelled over Strangford Lough last Wednesday and lost to an impressive Portaferry side.

Our u14 camogs were in action last Thursday and hosted Warrenpoint, Newry Shamrocks and Kilclief/ Ben Derg. The girls played very well and came out on top in all three of their games. Keep up the good work.

On Saturday morning the underage camogs of Cill Chua had a great time team bonding in Tollymore. The girls had a puck about and a competitive game of rounders before a picnic. Thanks to Route 65 for providing ice cream for the girls. See attached group photo.
