Cill Chua Club Notes

Eoghan Rua Cill Chua Noted W/E 23rd April

Congratulations to the Down men on Sunday and everyone involved on a brilliant victory over Donegal.

The win however was overshadowed by the disgraceful personal abuse of our county secretary in the first half.

We in Eoghan Rua Cill Chua condemn this action and support a man giving his all for the county. Onwards and upwards.

We wish the team all the best in this Sundays Ulster semi final against Armagh. In particular we wish our own, Niall Kane, Miceal Rooney, Ryan McEvoy, Ceilum Doherty, Ryan Johnston, Eugene Branagan, Shealan Johnston, Anthony Morgan, Jerome Johnston, Darragh O’Hanlon and Conor Laverty the best of luck.

Best wishes to Conor Laverty, Darragh O’Hanlon, Marc Rogan, Jason Morgan and Callum and Nathan Rogers in the Ulster under 20 final on Wednesday evening against Derry in Armagh.

Hard luck to Shimna college and in particular Daniel O’Hare who lost in the Nolan cup final last week.

Our senior team had a big defeat in their second league game on Friday past away to Burren. The experience though will do our young players no harm against a team with loads of it on the night which proved the difference. We welcome CPN at home this week.

At underage level Our under 17 boys had a good 4 point win over Bryansford last week while the under 15s lost to Annaclone. Our under 13s had a big win over St Paul’s.

Well done to our senior ladies who got their league off to a brilliant start last week defeating Bryansford 3-13 to 2-6. Shanna Fettes top scored on the night with 2-7, Chara Kelly got the other goal while Nicole Johnston also hit some lovely points.

Our minors had a good win over Saul last week while it was a defeat for the under 16 girls at the hands of Dundrum.

Hard luck to the Camogs who lost out to all Ireland intermediate champions Clonduff in their second league game of the season.

Well done to the primary school boys football team who were victorious over Carrick PS Burren in the Canon Esler Final. A memorable occasion for everybody involved

In what was a superb team performance.

Well done to our primary school age camogs who attended their first Blitz of the year in Attical on Saturday. There was some great camogie skills displayed in wet conditions. Well done girls. Many thanks to Attical for hosting and for  hospitality provided.

Well done to the u14 camogs who played their  first games of the season last Wednesday. They played Attical, Warrenpoint and Ballyholland and won all three games with great teamwork and skill on display. Thank you to Warrenpoint for hosting. Photo attached of team.
