Eoghan Rua Cill Chua Noted W/E 16th April

On field league action got underway for all teams bar the senior ladies in the club in the past week and it was a good week for the club results wise. The seniors got the ball

Rolling on Friday evening with a one point victory over Loughinisland at home (see separate Match report). This was a brilliant win and well done to the five senior debutants.

On Saturday our seconds met Mayobridge at home and ran out winners 1-12 to 1-8 winners, Sean Og McCusker with the goal.

It was the turn of the thirds on Sunday,

who travelled the short distance to Hilltown to meet Clonduff. They lads made it a hat trick for the adult male sides winning by five points in the end.

We had a brilliant start to the season for our senior Camogs midweek in their first fixture in division one. They ran out 2-7 to 0-5 winners over neighbours Castlewellan. Scorers on the evening were Megan Devlin 1-2, Eimear Doyle 1-1, Carly McClean 1-1 and Shanna Fettes 0-1.

On Saturday morning the p4/5 camogs took part in their first series of games this year. They had a great morning showing great skill and teamwork against Atticall, Castlewellan and 2 teams from the host club An Riocht. Thanks to An Riocht for organising and well done to the girls. Well done to our u12 camogs who travelled to Ballycran on Saturday morning for the first Blitz of the year. This young team played great winning two out of there three games. See attached photo.

Our under 14 girls started their campaign at the weekend and had a good win over Newry shamrocks.

Well done also to our under 15 boys who started the league with a win at home to Glenn. They also took part in the Feile on Easter Monday. See team photo attached.

Best of luck to the large contingent of lads involved with Down seniors this weekend in the ulster championship against Donegal. The minors are scheduled to play in the Curtain raiser, good luck also to they 3 lads on the panel.

Congratulations to Conor Laverty, Darragh O’Hanlon, Marc Rogan, Jason Morgan and Callum and Nathan Rogers on reaching the Ulster final with Down under 20s. We wish them all the best in the final against Derry.
