Eoghan Rua Cill Chua Notes
Membership of Eoghan Rua Cill Chua is now opened for 2023. Anyone who needs assistance registering on the system can avail at the clubrooms this Friday 6.45 to 7.30pm.
Well done to our senior players Aaron Branagan, Ryan McEvoy and Shealan Johnston on winning Ulster club all star awards with the Gaelic Life.
It is with great sadness we learned of the death of legendary Cill Chua clubman Pat Joe Travers last Friday.
Pat Joe, a hall of fame inductee, was one of our greatest ever supporters and was a man held in great esteem around Pairc Eoghain Rua.
We sympathise with the entire Travers family circle at this time and offer our sincere condolences.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal.
The club were taking part in the Every Steps Challenge/Ireland Lights Up. We encourage our members to get involved. This continues to take place every Tuesday 7-8pm at our grounds.
Well done to manager Conor Laverty and our players Ryan McEvoy, Ceilum Doherty, Niall Kane and Miceal Rooney who performed well for Down in their opening league games. Well done in particular to Ceilum on captaining his county against Antrim.
Hard luck to our lady’s Newry who lost their All Ireland semi final on Saturday in a game played in Pairc Eoghain Rua. Well done to our own Sinead McAneaney, Lauren Devlin, Colleen & Katie McClean on reaching the penultimate stage with their school and on winning Ulster.
The Friends of Kilcoo lotto draw continues each Tuesday evening. Tickets can be bought online or from usual outlets.
