Eoghan Rua Cill Chua Notes W/E 14th August

Eoghan Rua Cill Chua CLG are delighted to learn of the appointment of our own Conor Laverty as Down senior football manager. It’s a wonderful honour to lead your county as manager and nothing more than Conor deserves. We wish him and his backroom team all the best in the role. #AnDunAbu

Good luck to our senior footballers, management and backroom team who take on Burren in the league final on Wednesday evening in Mayobridge at 7pm. Tickets to be bought via the my ticket App.

We wish our player Ryan Greenan a speedy recovery after falling ill in the warm up of Friday pasts league game against Mayobridge. We thank the bridge for donating the gate receipts to the Kevin Bell charity, a fantastic gesture. This game was due to be replayed on Monday evening.

Congrats to our Senior Camogie team and their management who were  crowned Division 2A league champions. The work this group are putting in is superb, their dedication and commitment this year to date has been brilliant and this title is fully deserved. Well done to everyone involved. They defeated East Belfast last Week to confirm their league win and in doing so scored a mighty 8 goals and ten points.

Hard lock to our senior ladies who lost heavily to an impressive Bredagh in Cherryvale on Saturday evening.

Well done to our under 15s on their championship win over St Johns last Thursday. Congrats also to under 15 players Barra McEvoy and Dalach McGreevy who played important roles for Down under 15s in their Brian McLarnon Derrylaughan cup victory over Dublin in Hilltown.

Our under 13 boys has a brilliant away in in Castlewellan on Sunday racking up an impressive 6-11.

Commiserations to the under 17s who lost out to Ballyholland in the championship quarter final last week to bring their season to a conclusion.

Eoghan Rua Cill Chua are delighted to donate an All Ireland Club winning jersey to help raise money for the Kevin Bell charity. An event is planned by Justin Mc Quaid, John Paul Higgins, Eamon Eastwood, John Hughes, Donna McCreesh, Leanne Higgins and Jodie Forster to raise money in memory of Damian Casey, the late Eoghan Rua and Tyrone Hurling star.
