All roads lead to the Canal Court hotel on Friday evening for our gala awards night, in what promises to me a fantastic night of celebration for our club.
We hope everyone has a great evening, with our All Ireland winners pride of place.
Our senior fixture this week is on Wednesday evening away to Ballyholland at 7.30 due to the awards night on Friday.
Last week the lads had a big home win over Loughinisland which set them clear on top of the league, Dylan Ward and Justin Clarke with the goals.
Our seconds team travelled to Mayobridge on Saturday and came away with two league points to keep them unbeaten and top of the league.
Well done to our senior ladies who had a big 3-10 to 1-4 win over neighbours Castlewellan on Saturday also.
Our under 14 girls produced a wonderful display last week winning handsomely against Rostrevor while the under 12s won well away to Liatriom. Great progress girls.
On a busy Saturday afternoon, the minors were also in action. This time they were at home to Carryduff and won by 15 points, scoring five goals in the process in a very impressive display. This backed up a brilliant victory over Bryansford earlier in the week.
Our under 15s have had mixed results so far this year but put on their best performance of the season last Thursday away to Bac an Dorie In Fontenoy park. Well done to lads.
Well done also to our under 13s who made it a week unbeaten for the club with a big win at home to Darragh Cross.
The club were delighted to take part in the Community Finance Ireland “supporting GAA clubs” launch and subsequent webinar last week. Chairman Roger Morgan fielded for the launch, which runs in 4 provinces over a 4 week period, while our PRO Michael Kane was a guest on the webinar hosted by sports presenter Aisling O’Reilly.
