No Eoghan Rua Cill Chua Notes W/E 5th Sept
The all county senior league division 1 concluded on Friday evening as our seniors lost for the second week running this time away to Clonduff. With little to play for heading into the game, it would have been hard to get up for, but the boys dominated most of the match only to be undone by their own mistakes which led to goals for the home side at crucial stages.
Championship round 1 is what really matters though and a few hard weeks of preparation lie ahead. Kilcoo v Mayobridge will be on
Sunday 19th at 3pm in Pairc Esler. Admisssion will be by ticket only which will be available via the MyTicket app.
Congrats to our reserve team on reaching the championship final defeating Bredagh on Sunday past in Drumaness. It was a brilliant team performance.
The final will take place this Sunday at 2.15pm and the opposition is Burren. At the time of writing the match venue was still to be confirmed. Best of luck to the players and management we they aim to bring home the cup for the first time since 2013.
Well done to our senior footballer Shealan Johnston on being selected on the top 20 Under 20 players in Ireland for 2021. Congratulations.
Hard luck to our under 15 boys side who
Lost out to Ballyholland in the championship quarter final last Thursday.
On Saturday our U7, 9 & 11 Camogs played in their last blitz of the season in Kilcoo. Ballycran & Clonduff were in attendance and gave our girls some very competitive games. Thanks to all who helped set up, to the referees, to our parents for their continued support and to all our great wee camogs who played superbly. A special mention to our youngest stars of the day Eimear, Aiobheann, Sofia & Jessica who played in their first blitz, well done girls.

Our U13 girls had a great win against Cumann Pheadair Naofa last week.
The girls played some great football in the first half but they trailed by 4points at half time.
They came out in the second half and showed great determination to get the win with their work rate absolutely fantastic and the attackers scoring at will.
Full Time Score:
Kilcoo 11-8 Cumann Pheadair Naofa 6-6.
Big congratulations to the U11.5 girls on winning their league last Wednesday after a 4 point victory against a strong Bryansford team. Well done girls. See attached photo.
Playing members, non playing members, committee members, parents and patrons of the community. Over the years Kilcoo GAC has worked tirelessly to develop the grounds and facilities that are at your disposal. These fantastic facilities are for you, your children, grandchildren and generations to come. Therefore, I plead with you, as you enter the gates of Pairc Eoghan Rua Cill Chua, to treat the facilities like you would your own home. Because it is your home. Please don’t leave litter lying around the grounds, pick it up and put it in the bins. If the bins are full then please take it home and put it in your own bin. For any parents who stay during their sons or daughters training or matches, please take 10 mins to walk around the grounds and lift any litter, or give the toilets a sweep. Kilcoo GAC are known around the country for being a tight-knit family, let’s all pull together and help keep our facilities clean, tidy and litter free, so we can all enjoy them as they are meant to be enjoyed. Thank you.
