Congratulations to our senior ladies who became league champions on Saturday evening thanks to their 7-11 to 3-5 win over Burren.

Plaudits go to each of our players and the management team of Brian Devlin, Barry Morgan, Chloe McCusker, Chara Laverty and Mandy McClean.

Best of luck for the championship.

Well done to our U10.5 girls today who took part in the Dromintee tournament also on Saturday . After progressing though the group stages having won 5 out of 6 games with wins against Carryduff, St Paul’s, Naomh Eanna, Raheny and Truagh they progressed to the semi final again accounting for Carryduff after a titanic battle. The girls then came up against home club Dromintee in the final. This proved a step too far against a bigger stronger outfit. This is the first time this team has been beaten at any level. Well done girls on a fantastic achievement. See attached team photo.

In a busy week for our girls teams we also say well done to our under 18s on their 4-12 to 4-8 win over Annaclone and hard luck to the Under 13s who lost out to St John’s.

In men’s football the seniors had a 4 point success at home to Ballyholland on Friday evening. (See match report supplied).

This week they have two away trips in 4 days, Carryduff on Friday and another East Down affair away to Loughinisland on Monday.

Our reserve team qualified to the last 8 of the championship without having to kick a ball, unfortunately the opposition couldn’t field. The quarter final game against Warrenpoint will take place this Sunday.

At underage boys football the clubs teams had mixed results last week. The Under 19s lost to Burren while the Under 15s had a good win over Clonduff in the championship group stages.

At senior Camogie the ladies lost by 3 points to Kilclief Ben Dearg last Monday.

The Friends of Kilcoo lotto draw continues each Tuesday evening. Tickets can be bought online or from usual outlets.
