Eoghan Rua Cill Chua Notes
Commiserations to Down Under 20s and their management team on Saturdays All Ireland semi final defeat to Roscommon.
While it may take a few days to get over the disappointment, they boys should look back with great pride they put back into the county and the joy they gave in winning an Ulster title. Well done to Conor, Shealan, Justin, Anthony, Niall, Tiernan and Sean Og.
It was premier reserve championship time at the weekend and unfortunately our lads bowed out at the hands of Clonduff. It was a disappointing result especially after clinching the league a week previously.
The seniors got back to winning ways on Friday away to Rostrevor with an eleven point win. Conditions were tough but the lads who lined out performed well winning 1-12 to 0-4 in the end. Miceal Rooney was the star player on view scoring 1-4 from half back.
It was also a good week for our under 19 boys who had a brilliant 3-15 to 1-15 win over Carryduff.
Hard luck to our Under 15 boys and girls teams who lost to Mayobridge and Bryansford respectively over the last week.
Well done to our under 11.5 side who had two good wins last week, against Castlewellan and Downpatrick.
Our two u7 girls teams had a great morning at a blitz in liatroim on Saturday with superb performances from both teams.
