Sunny Pairc  Eoghain Rua was the venue on Friday evening for round 4 of the Corn An Duin, with An Riocht the visitors to the current county champions.

Conditions were almost perfect with the result going the way of the home side. From

the first whistle Mickey Morans charges took control and at no time did it look like the division two side would take the scalp of the Magpies who dominated in all sectors, with Martin Devlin in particular unerring up front, finishing with 0-8.

It was the Kingdom who opened the scoring via goalkeeper Stephen Dorans long range free and he added to his tally later in the half from similar distance. In between though, a Declan Doyle point of his left was all they could muster, Kilcoo scoring at will through Ryan Johnston and Marty Devlin in particular as they led 0-10 to 0-3 at the break.

It was much of the same after half time with the Mourne men only adding another 3 points in the half, Doyle with the most impressive of them.

The game was put beyond doubt when the lively Crissy Rooney improvised beautifully to fist to the net on 35 minutes. Rooney and his brother Miceal added brilliant scores with that man Devlin adding to his tally as the half wore on.

Kilcoo kept the pressure on right to the end assisted by the introductions of experienced men like Aaron Morgan and Dylan Ward, just back from injury, with another sub Ciaran McClean hitting the net with time almost up to give the home side an 18 point win.

Kilcoo Scorers: Martin Devlin 0-8, Crissy Rooney 1-2, Ryan Johnston 0-4, Ciaran McClean 1-1, Miceal Rooney 0-2, Paul Greenan 0-1.

An Riocht Scorers: Stephen Doran 0-2, Declan Doyle 0-2, Conor Clarke 0-1, Kory Colgan 0-1.

Referee: Con Reynolds (RGU Downpatrick)
